ENTREPRENEURS, FREELANCE PROFESSIONALS OR OTHER?
A few days ago a dear friend, a freelancer, referring to a common acquaintance, told me: “that person will hardly be able to be a freelancer or entrepreneur / entrepreneur in the future”. We discuss and agree on a couple of essential entrepreneurial characteristics strictly related to stress management in moments of great criticality. A treatise can be written on this topic but here, I tried to summarize the characteristics in 6 points to
WHY DO OUT-OF-CLASS LEADERS COMPLAIN ABOUT THE NORMALITY OF THEIR COLLABORATORS? REFLECTIONS ON TALENTS
I walk at a brisk pace, I don’t run at all and I feel “normal”. However, if Usain Bolt, well-known athlete better known as “the Jamaican lightning bolt”, were to compete with me for a remote and unlikely reason, I would continue happy and serene to walk at a brisk pace “what I can do and I do best”, and he he would be frustrated, disarmed and not at all challenged! I often find
THE DIFFICULTY OF BEING A TALENT
In most cases, in my professional experience, true talents don’t recognize themselves as such at all. Not to mention the “champions” (out of 100 5% of talents) who absolutely do not feel capable of producing excellent results: for them everything is easy and normal, indeed, they wonder “obsessively” why others are like this ” incapable “and judge them (because they do not see their extraordinary nature!) and get angry all the time. A focal
TALENTIOUS TALENTS EVEN IN THE AUTO-SABOTAGE: WHY?
I thank those who wrote to me in private in relation to my article of June 20 (https://www.linkedin.com/feed/update/urn:li:linkedInArticle:6417105595744 219136 /), in relation to the difficulties of Being a talent, raising the issue of self-sabotage in order to achieve challenging objectives and thus be able to take a leap towards new successes. I take inspiration from the message received to offer my point of view on the self-sabotage of talents (and in general). A necessary
TRUST IS THE KEY! FOR WHAT? TO INCREASE BUSINESS PERFORMANCE, TO HAVE EFFECTIVE RELATIONSHIPS AND FOR PERSONAL WELLBEING.
Some time ago it happened to me, for various unreasonable reasons, to come across and meet three similar people, that is, totally (or almost!) lacking in self-confidence. These people show behaviors, albeit with different tones, very similar: They are always anxious They always feel challenged (it is they who question themselves!) Even when there is no intent on the part of the interlocutor They severely judge others and themselves Their behavioral reactions are completely
SACCENT MANAGERS WHO MAKE HEADS, COLLEAGUES AND FRIENDS INSOFFERENT. REFLECTIONS ON THE “FIRST IN CLASS” IN THE COMPANY
The know-it-all manager is the one who never misses an opportunity with a sarcastic tone to point out his “skill” and, in a subtle, subtle and imperceptible way, wants to teach you the lesson! As we have seen, in many other cases – for those who have read my reflections – a know-it-all manager is certainly also a good talent but lacking a noble value such as humility and the ability to be empathetic.
THE SEX OF LEADERSHIP
Leadership is the ability to lead yourself and your life better by making effective decisions, and to grow and guide other leaders by passing the baton to them. Full Stop. This assumption is my point of view with respect to leadership. There are excellent teachers and teachers who inspire students. Many of us became passionate about some particular subject (mathematics, philosophy, history, etc.) simply because whoever transferred knowledge was a natural leader. There are
INNOVATION? A MUST ON EVERY COMPANY TABLE: HOW AWARE ARE WE OF ALL ITALIAN CREATIVITY AND HOW MUCH DO WE USE IT?
Anyone who has given shape and identity to the “little hand” we are talking about these days is an undisputed genius. In less than 24 hours someone of an “abstract concept” gave him a shape, an image and publicly made him, in effect, a new, ironic and innovative “character”. This “character” today occupies the plethora of figurines on sale in the famous Via San Gregorio Armeno, in Naples, aimed at enriching the Christmas nativity
GENIUS LEARN ONLY FROM HIMSELF, TALENT ESPECIALLY FROM OTHERS (A. SCHÖNBERG). REFLECTIONS ON OUT OF CLASS.
A few days ago I gave a lift from a seaside resort to a very young boy headed to Bocconi University in Milan. For two hours we talked about various topics and, I admit, conversing with a brilliant young man was a lot of fun. I had a meeting at 3.00 pm and he lectures at Bocconi at 2.30 pm. Despite my hyper-cautious driving, given my respective commitments, I pressed on the accelerator as
